AFTERCARE ADVICE

WET HEALING

only use this healing method if you have

been advised to do so by your artist.

PLEASE READ THOROUGHLY

Your artist will wrap your tattoo before you leave the studio.

You should leave this wrap on for the rest of the day,

or until the morning after your appointment.

When it is time to unwrap your tattoo, do so with clean dry hands, once the wrap is removed rinse with water that is room temperature , use circular motions with your fingertips to remove any residue that has built up.

Once your tattoo is free of residue, use clean hands to apply a small amount of tattoo soap, then using circular motions with your fingertips lather up into a foam, then rinse until all foam is gone.

(if you do not have tattoo specific soap, just use water, NEVER use generic soaps, or scrubs)

Once you have washed your tattoo use kitchen towel

(we recomend plenty brand) to pat the tattoo dry, apply slight pressure to soak up any moisture, then dispose of towels. (do not use bath towels, or face cloths) Never rub your new tattoo dry.

as soon as the tattoo has been dried

re-wrap with cling film and fix in place with tape.

For the first 3/4 days of healing follow

the cleaning routine outlined above.

1-unwrap

2-wash

3-dry

4-rewrap

when using the wet healing method  it is important to re-wrap your tattoo as soon as it has been washed and dried,

the tattoo needs to be wrapped constantly, if at any point you allow your tattoo to be unwrapped and dry out

it is important not to re-wrap it.

Do not allow your new tattoo to be submerged in water, or be exposed to steamy environments, avoid baths while your tattoo is healing and keep showers short and not too hot.

After a while (days or weeks depending on the individual)

the tattooed area will begin to feel dry, at this point you

can start using a tattoo balm to soothe the itchy skin.

With a clean dry hand to apply a *small*

(we mean it a little goes a long way)

amount of balm to your skin with your finger tips

until all of the product is absorbed.

Do not use scented lotions/antiseptic creams

we recommend using a tattoo specific aftercare balm

which can be purchased from our studio.

Every tattoo, and every body heals at its own pace.

We believe that your body knows best so we recommend only using balm on your tattooed skin when it feels like it needs it.

Once your tattoo is fully healed and settled in you can continue to use our balm to keep your tattooed skin well moisturised and healthy, this will help to keep your tattoos looking their best.
